About Drones of War

If you've ever tried to find reliable specs on a military drone, you know the problem. The information is out there, but it's buried across government procurement documents, manufacturer brochures that read like marketing copy, and news articles that contradict each other on basic details like range and payload.

That's what Drones of War is for. We pull together specs, operational histories, combat records, and technical analysis into one reference, so you don't have to cross-reference five sources just to work out whether something is jet-powered or propeller-driven.

Everything here is built from open sources: manufacturer data sheets, government procurement filings, verified reporting, and defence trade press. Where we're confident in a number, we say so. Where the data is murky or contested, we flag that too.

We do use AI tools to spot new platforms and developments we might otherwise miss. But nothing goes live without a human editor checking the facts and signing off. No exceptions.

We're independent. No government, military organisation, or defence contractor sponsors us or has any say in what we publish. Ads run on the site, but advertisers don't get to influence coverage. If a system has problems, we'll say so regardless of who made it.
